Warehouse Cinemas has been working hard to complete three phases of major renovations of the Leitersburg location to offer guests a premium, out-of-home entertainment experience. Now, the final stage of the renovation process has concluded, and guests are excited to return to the theater during the holidays with a new, expansive food and drink menu. Warehouse Cinemas has appreciated the patience and support of the local community as the renovation team worked to create this better moviegoing experience.
HighRock Group, led by President, CEO and co-owner, Rich Daughtridge, and Greg Mills, COO and co-owner of Warehouse Cinemas, officially announced the acquisition of the cinema on Leitersburg Pike in June of 2021. In Phase 1, renovations began immediately on the eight smaller auditoriums, soon thereafter moving to auditoriums #1 and #2, including the installation of Dolby Atmos, and all new bathrooms in Phase 2. In Phase 3, and most extensive, was the renovation of the lobby, concession area and installation of a new kitchen and bar this past Summer and Fall.
“We wanted to bring back the best of what made LC great back in the day, together with the best of our Warehouse Cinemas brand – new luxury recliners w/ seat warmers, elevated food options, a self-serve beer wall, creative cocktails and, as always, free refills on any size popcorn and sodas,” said Daughtridge. “Our goal was to combine the best of the old with the best of the new.”
All areas of the theater received a significant amount of attention during the 18-month renovation process. The entire building was painted to match the Warehouse Cinemas look and feel. The signage and marquee were also updated, giving a clean, updated look to the building.
The interior got an upgrade as well. Patrons will love the finished bar and décor, giving moviegoers a relaxing place to hang out before the movie. Similar to the Warehouse Cinemas Frederick location, patrons can find rotating movie-themed cocktails on the menu as well.
Currently featured cocktails include the ‘Cotton Headed Ninny Muggin’ cocktail for the ELF movie experience and a special drink for the new “Avatar: The Way of Water “movie opening on Thursday, December 15th.
In particular, one of the biggest upgrades is a 30-tap self-serve beer wall, which will soon include self-serve options of wine and cocktails. This makes it easier for patrons to get the beverages they want, will reduce the lines, and will provide new choices that were not available before.
The kitchen was also expanded significantly, and Warehouse Cinemas has invested in new equipment that has allowed the kitchen to expand its menu offering. There are a lot of elevated food items on the menu, including grilled cheeses, delicious flatbread pizzas, gourmet hotdogs and unique desserts. This includes funnel cake fries, which everybody loves.
Coinciding with the completion of the renovations at Leitersburg is the launch of ‘merch’ for WC fans. The collection includes t-shirts, hats, socks, hoodies and even a stylish fanny pack.
All merch, along with gift cards, are being sold in a special Santa’s Workshop area in the lobby on Saturday, December 17th, Saturday, December 24th and other select dates. Check website and social media for details.
“As cool as our merch designs are, we’re even more excited about the fact that all proceeds will go to our Scholarship Fund for the team,” said Greg Mills. “Our team stives to offer the highest level of customer service and is encouraged to find ‘save the day’ moments for guests everyday. We hope you’ll do a little holiday shopping at Warehouse Cinemas this season. We want to give back to our team in a big way!”
